Sexually transmitted disease or STIs are diseases that have a high probability of transmission between humans who engage in sexual intercourse. This may be in form of oral sex, anal sex and vaginal intercourse. There are many types disease that feature in STD list and most of them are transmitted sexually and through the exchange of body fluids and discharge. All the types of these sexual diseases have a bad reception in the community. This makes most people to ignore following the right channels to be cured completely.

Some of the diseases that feature in STD list are such as: genital herpes, hepatitis B, trichomoniasis, syphilis gonorrhea, bacteria vaginosis, Chlamydia, human papillomavirus not forgetting HIV. Some of the diseases in STD list have fatal consequences while others have severe consequences in women precisely. That is why it’s recommended for women to have checkups frequently. These infections from diseases in this STD list may lead to pelvic inflammatory disease which causes infertility in women and death in some cases. Some of the common diseases which feature in the STD list are highlighted below.

Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)

This disease finds its way into STD list and it is believed to be the main cause of cervical cancer. Also it has links with other cancers of the reproductive system. This type of virus can be treated and reduces symptoms and signs. A vaccine has recently been invented to prevent infection of the STIs however there is no cure so far for the virus.

Hepatitis

This is also a must know disease in the STD list. There is no cure for sure for those who are already infected though there are drugs and a vaccine available at stores world wide to prevent spread of the STI. Many people don’t show symptoms though there are those that experience many unpleasant discomforts. Hepatitis A and C are common types in the STD list and both are transmitted sexually.

Trichomoniasis

This disease is very common but one of the curable in the STD list. The symptoms of trichomoniasis are normally mistaken with those of yeast infection. This causes many women to use the wrong treatment especially if they buy medicine off the counter without prescription.

Herpes Virus

This is also another common disease in the STD list, and it has no cure. Treatment is available to reduce the symptom and signs related to the herpes STI and there are also home remedies that are recommended for women to use at home to relive the discomfort. Herpes symptoms include sore blisters that periodically break out of the genitals. They tend to be painful especially around heat. There are creams that are used to apply to dry up the blisters.

HIV/ AIDS

This is the most dreadful of all diseases in the STD list. Most people don’t show symptoms in the initial stage. The symptoms of this deadly disease in the STD list start showing later and one can only prevent the fatalness of the disease for a period of time. Taking a test is the only way one can be sure of their status. The drugs used in this case of HIV STI are ARVs and are taken through out one’s life. There is a new drug however that is being tested for this deadly disease in the STD list.

Regardless of the nature of diseases in the STD list, the best way is to take preventive measures like ensuring usage of condoms until both partners are tested.

Crabs pubic lice are very tiny insects with a miniature shape of a crab. They crawl on human pubic hair and like living in warm and humid areas. They also inhabit the eyes and other hairy places. Pubic hair infection has no preference of race or country. They are transmitted from one person to another through physical contact and sexual especially. More transmission can be in form of sharing clothes, beddings and other garments. This is also how most children get the crab pubic lice. Once they have made your body their home they feed by sucking your blood. The crabs’ pubic lice cannot live longer than two days once they have fallen off your body.

Crabs pubic lice mature from the egg stage to full maturity of an adult as follows. Nit: these are lice eggs and it’s not possible to them with the public eye. They are oval in shape and the eggs take up to ten days to hatch from six days. They have a color ranging from whitish to yellowish and make it difficult to see them in light skinned people. The eggs attach themselves firmly on the hair shaft. Nymph is the lice that hatch from the eggs. They take up to three weeks to get to maturity stage where they can reproduce. Here they get to suck a lot of your blood so as to survive. Adult crab is the crab pubic lice that have fully matured. At this stage they have six to eight legs and take the resemblance of a small crab.

Symptoms of crabs pubic lice include:

the first symptoms could be seeing white insects in the pubic hare, could cause a lot of itching and those with more exposure to the pubic lice may notice some grayish tan. One can also see the oval shaped nits hanging tightly to the hair shaft. These are not removable with just fingers. There are nit combs that are sold in the drug stores. They remove the tightly attached nits easily from the hair by combing out. These crabs pubic lice symptoms may not be visible until after some weeks and the first sign could be itching.

Treatment of crabs’ pubic lice pyrethrins is used.

It’s a pair of organic compounds which have potent insecticidal activity. Cream rinse is also used to clean the lice out. It’s advisable to strictly apply the medicine on the affected area and then rinse out after the specified stated time. After removal of the lice the hair in the affected area should be shaved or groomed. This is to make sure that the eggs have not remained and the adult lice too. This easily causes re infection. The treatment can be repeated after some time and also the clothing and beddings should be cleaned using an antiseptic. The eggs and nits tend to fall of in the bed and the warm areas such as pillows. The above information should be keenly followed if one needs to keep the crabs pubic lice at bay.

Vaginal lesions are disorders of the vagina. They are an abnormality or damage in an organism’s tissue. The term lesions is so broad and they can be sores, herpes, infections or even cancerous. Visiting you gynecologist is very important for women in general so as to identify the vaginal lesions early. They are usually classified with their features. For example if vaginal lesions have been caused by tumor then it’s classified as malignant. They are very painful and itch most of the time. They cause a lot of discomfort in the infected person.

Vaginal lesions are normally ignored. Because of the person’s image it leaves in someone, people do not seek the proper medical attention required. People go to the chemists and by drugs to ease the itching and the pain. The top area clears pain and itchiness and they continue sexual intercourse thinking the vaginal lesions are gone. Since the vaginal lesion infection has not been treated properly from the inside, re infection has chances. You notice the sexual intercourse becomes very painful and the itching becomes unbearable.

Causes of vaginal lesions

Vaginal lesions are caused by sexually transmitted diseases or STIs. The STIs that causes the sores include chancroid: caused by a type of bacteria called haemophilus ducreyi. It’s mostly found in third world countries and in uncircumcised men it can lead to HIV infections. Its symptoms are small bumps on the genitals which develop into an ulcer. In women it’s found on the outer lips of the vagina and could cause ulcers. Genital herpes: caused by herpes simplex virus type 1 and 2. The second type causes most cases of genital herpes of vaginal lesions. Can be spread from the mouth to the genital by oral sex, spread during sexual contact and transmitted by getting in contact with an infected person with visible vaginal lesions.

Treatment of vaginal lesions

The physician has to perform some tests so as to determine the extent of the vaginal lesion. So you need to tell the doctor when you fist noticed the lesions, if this has happened in the past and whatever medication you took for it. The tests may include complete blood count and blood tests. As we mentioned earlier that the vaginal lesions are classified with their feature s so are the treatments. Most of these infections are treated using antibiotics. The prescriptions depend on the magnitude off the infection of the vaginal lesions.

The treatment of the vaginal lesions requires someone to finish the doses recommended. Both partners are required to keep off sexual intercourse for the entire treatment period. Should side effects occur then one should get back to the doctors for change of drugs. Also the doctors might be required to run more tests to determine if there is anything else causing the side effects. In case of a re infection strict measures are taken to determine the reason behind it. Some vaginal lesions if not treated properly can be cancerous in later stages of life.

Gonorrhea is considered to be a sexually transmitted disease that affects several people annually. It is mainly causes by bacteria that is easily passed through sexual intercourse. Symptoms of gonorrhea include painful urination, bleeding in women, vaginal or penis discharge and swollen testicles in men. As such, there are antibiotics for gonorrhea that can be used to treat it. However, the best prevention after antibiotics for gonorrhea is to ensure that you practice safe sex, use condoms consistently and take time to know the history of all the potential partners that you have.

Antibiotics for gonorrhea play a major role to all those people who are suffering from this disease.

This is because, if the disease is detected early enough, it can be treated using antibiotics for gonorrhea and this in turn will provide the patients with a high rate recovery. Through this, the patients are given back an opportunity of enjoying their life once more and resuming all their duties as it was initially before contacting the disease. The best thing about antibiotics for gonorrhea is that they act very fast as soon as the disease is detected.

When it comes to using antibiotics for gonorrhea, it is imperative to first of all consult a physician who will prescribe the best antibiotics for you. This is because the treatment provided through these antibiotics solely depends on the stage of the disease. An early detection that is not complicated can easily be treated via these antibiotics. However, if the stage is more advanced, antibiotics for gonorrhea may not be effective and this may prompt one to seek for other alternative methods to treat the disease such as injections.

Apart from using antibiotics for gonorrhea, it is imperative for you to get some individual counseling as you continue using the antibiotics. This is simply because the symptoms can bring a lot of discomfort to you thus prompting you to have to talk to someone to share what you are going through. You can seek counseling from a sexual health professional in case you don’t feel comfortable being in a group or crowd counseling.

You can as well speak to some of your friends you have used the antibiotics before to get to know how they felt, how fast they recovered and much more. This way, you will get some self-esteem to move on without being embarrassed about your status.

How to Use Antibiotics for Gonorrhea

It is imperative to ensure that you have followed the treatment schedule that has been provided by your physician concerning the antibiotics for gonorrhea to the letter. In case you find that the symptoms are not going away even after taking the antibiotics, it simply implies that you have contracted an antibiotic resilient strain of the disease.

Eensure that you consult your doctor again and have him provide you with more effective antibiotics for gonorrhea that will help you in ridding of the infection as soon as possible. Ensure that you linger in close communication with your physician in the entire treatment and healing process so that you can easily update him your progress.

Oral sex in general terms is a sexual activity involving stimulation of the genital in either a man or a woman. This is done using the mouth and teeth. Anilingus is oral sex stimulation of anal, cunnilingus is oral sex performed on women while the oral sex performed on males is referred to as fellatio. Kissing and licking of other parts of the body is not considered as oral sex. Most people engage in this act as a fore play before having the real intercourse.

When a woman is performing oral sex on the male partner there are things involved. A woman holds the male penis and starts four playing with it. There are those that are comfortable licking and others prefer putting it in the mouth. All this is done to stimulate sexual feelings before the real sexual intercourse progresses. Oral sex is common in western world though in other cultures it is termed as dirty adventures. There are negative effects that come with oral sex and most off them are infections transmitted through the body fluids.

Risks of performing oral sex

Most people think that oral sex has no effects from those people infected with HIV. That is why most people prefer doing it than the real sexual intercourse. The truth is that there is a lot of risk associated with oral sex and HIV and other sexual transmittable diseases. The risks are also greater than those couples that are discordant. This is whereby one partner is infected and the other is not. Also the risks are higher than those people who use drugs and injections therefore oral sex is highly discouraged. If someone the infected person has bruises in the mouth and you engage in oral sex the fluids are passed on very quickly to the other partner.

With fellatio which is the oral sex performed to men the receptive partner is at risk because of the infected ejaculation or fluids can get to the mouth.

The insertive partner is at risk because of the gums that might be bleeding or an open wound. During cunnilingal oral sex which is performed on women, the risk is low compared to vaginal and anal sex. It cannot to be completely ruled out since there have been a few cases of HIV infection.

During anilingus sex which is anal oral sex, the risk is with the insertive partner or the person who is licking or sucking the anus. This happens especially if there is infected blood through cuts and sores or in feacal matter. There are published books that have this information clearly stated. It’s good to have full information on the oral sex so that you can know the risks. This information can be shared with those partners that insist on having oral sex and are not sure of their status. There should be campaigns discouraging oral sex since there are no preventive measures unlike with sexual intercourse where condoms can be used in both partners.

Crab louse also known as pubic lice is a parasite that infests the human pubic hair. This species of parasite is also known to inhabit the eye lashes and other hairy areas. They exclusively feed on blood and like living in the hairy places that are badly kept. Pubic hair is a preferred hide out for the crab louse because it’s never exposed to light and there are people who neglect cleaning this area thoroughly. Pubic hair infection is found world wide and can affect all races and all societies and is transmitted through sexual contact. Crab louse is in three types namely Nit, Nymph and Adult.

Crab louse “Nit”

These are lice eggs and are difficult to see with the naked eye. They are normally found attached very firmly on the hair shaft. They have an oval shape and these pubic lice nits take between six to ten days ho hatch. They have a color ranging from whitish to yellowish.

Crab louse “Nymph”

This crab louse is a mature louse that hatches from the nit or the lice eggs. After hatching from the eggs, the lymph may take from two to three weeks to mature to a stage where they can reproduce. They require living on blood to survive.

Crab louse “Adult”

The name crab louse can from the sense that when the lice mature to adulthood, they resemble a crab only in miniature form. They have six legs with their front legs long and also resemble pincher claws of a crab. From the yellowish white color, they turn to grayish white. Crab louse female lice are larger in size than male lice. To live the crab louse also has to feed on blood and once it falls off a person or the host it normally dies in one to two days.

Transmission of crab louse

Crab louse or pubic lice gets to a new host by having close contacts with other people through sexual contact. For a child to get lice transmitted from a parent, they could have shared a towel, bed and other forms of clothing. The louse is spread through body fluids and sweat. It’s therefore important to have the persons you have had sexual contact with within the last month screened. This is so as to get treatment and also stop further transmission. STI tests should also be taken by the adults considering the association between lice in the pubic area and classic sexually transmitted diseases. Crab louse infection in children and teenagers cannot necessarily occur from sexual transmission. Nevertheless, this point cannot be ruled out since they could have been molested.

Crab louse treatment

The crab louse is treatable with cream rinse and pyrethrins which is a pair of organic compounds with potent insecticidal activity. The treatment should be applied strictly to the affected area and washed off after the special. The infected area should then be shaved off or groomed well to clean off the dead lice. Also to ensure complete clearance of the crab louse the treatment can be repeated.
